Kate, originaire de Terre-Neuve, a une profonde affinité avec la musique de cette province. The Breakwater Boys Breakdown, composée par le terre-neuvien Émile Benoît, est une de ses pièces préférées. Dinney Delaney & The Yellow Wattle est un hommage à Kevin Burke, le célèbre violoneux irlandais qui fut l’une des premières grandes influences d’Émilie dans l’apprentissage du violon traditionnel.

Kate was born in Newfoundland, and has been listening to and playing the province’s music all her life. This tune is one of Kate’s favourite compositions by Émile. Émilie arranged Dinney Delaney & The Yellow Wattle after the playing of the celebrated fiddler Kevin Burke, one of her strongest early influences in Irish music.
