Trad irlandais, arr. Kate Bevan-Baker

Notre arrangement de ces deux reels irlandais a été inspiré du jeu de Séamus Ennis, qui a joué un rôle important dans la valorisation et la redécouverte de la tradition du uilleann piping en Irlande au 20e siècle. L’accompagnement au violon à 5 cordes ou à la vièle à archet (fabriquée par la tante d’Émilie, Louise Pauli), simule les bourdons et régulateurs de la cornemuse irlandaise et le timbre du violon baroque imite la mélodie de la cornemuse.

Our arrangement of these two Irish reels was inspired by the playing of Séamus Ennis, who played a large role in promoting and reviving the tradition of uilleann piping in Ireland during the 20th century. The accompaniment emulates the drones and regulators of uilleann pipes, and Émilie plays a bowed viele built by her aunt Louise Pauli. We play baroque violin and 5-string violin tuned at A-415 for a lower pitch and larger melodic range.
